Set up comment to DM in four steps

    Connect Instagram

    Sign up for Xukko, then connect your Instagram Business or Creator account through Instagram's official login. Xukko never asks for your Instagram password.

    Apply the automation to any post or reel, to specific posts you tap, or to the next post you publish.

What happens when someone comments

  1. Instagram tells Xukko about the new comment within seconds.
  2. If it matches your keyword, Xukko sends your message as a private reply to that comment, which arrives in the person’s DMs.
  3. If you turned on public replies, one of your replies is posted under the comment. Xukko picks one at random each time, because Instagram can hide replies that are all identical.
  4. The conversation appears in your Xukko inbox, and the person is saved in Contacts.

Collect emails and phone numbers

Turn on “Ask for contact details” and Xukko asks for an email address or phone number after the DM, then saves the answer on the contact. You can export your contacts as a CSV file.

Rules Instagram sets

  • One private reply per comment. Xukko sends the DM once per person per post, so repeat comments don’t spam anyone.
  • Replies inside a comment thread don’t trigger automations, which prevents reply loops.
  • Ads created separately in Meta Ads Manager aren’t supported yet. Boosted posts work like any other post.

Questions

Does comment to DM work on reels?
Yes. Reels, photo posts and carousels all work, including posts you published before you signed up.
Can I use the same automation on many posts?
Yes. Choose "Any post or reel" to cover every post, or tap specific posts. "My next post" applies it to the next thing you publish.
Can people reply to the DM?
Yes. Their reply opens a normal conversation. It shows in your Xukko inbox, where a DM automation or AI answers can reply, or you can answer yourself.
Do I need a Business or Creator account?
Yes. Instagram only allows automatic replies on professional accounts. Switching is free in the Instagram app: Settings, then Account type and tools, then Switch to professional account. You keep your followers and posts.
Is this allowed by Instagram?
Yes. Xukko uses Instagram's official API (Instagram API with Instagram Login), the route Meta approves for business messaging. It follows Instagram's rules: one private reply per comment, messages only within 24 hours of the person's last message, and Instagram's sending limits.
