How to auto-reply to Instagram story replies and mentions

Set up story reply automation

    Connect Instagram

    Sign up for Xukko, then connect your Instagram Business or Creator account through Instagram's official login. Xukko never asks for your Instagram password.

    Choose the trigger

    Pick "Someone replies to your story" or "Someone mentions you in their story".

  3. 03

    Set keywords

    For story replies, add words like LINK or OFFER, or reply to every story reply. Story mentions always reply.

  4. 04

    Write the DM

    Write the message with up to three link buttons. For story replies you can switch on AI answers instead. Save and switch it on.

Does it work for story mentions from any account?
Yes, when someone mentions your connected account in their story, Xukko can send them a DM.
Do I need a Business or Creator account?
Yes. Instagram only allows automatic replies on professional accounts. Switching is free in the Instagram app: Settings, then Account type and tools, then Switch to professional account. You keep your followers and posts.
Is this allowed by Instagram?
Yes. Xukko uses Instagram's official API (Instagram API with Instagram Login), the route Meta approves for business messaging. It follows Instagram's rules: one private reply per comment, messages only within 24 hours of the person's last message, and Instagram's sending limits.
